Overview
Ultherapy Prime is the current generation of Ultherapy. It focuses ultrasound energy at set depths beneath the skin, including the SMAS — the layer a surgeon tightens in a facelift — to trigger gradual tightening and new collagen.
Because the device shows the tissue on screen, depth is confirmed before each line of energy is placed. At CÉRAMIQUE it is planned around your face shape and the areas where volume loss would be a risk, rather than an even split of shots.

Before
- Your previous treatments, allergies and current medication (such as aspirin or anticoagulants) are reviewed.
- Treatment areas are marked and energy settings are decided before the session begins.
During
- For ultrasound lifting, the treatment depth is checked on screen in real time.
- Numbing cream, and further comfort options where appropriate, are matched to your sensitivity.
After
- Heat and redness are calmed straight away with LDM, the Astro Dome or a modelling mask as appropriate.
- You leave with written aftercare instructions and a home-care guide for your skin.

Ultherapy Prime — questions
Ultherapy Prime or Thermage FLX?
They work at different depths. Ultherapy Prime targets the deeper supporting layer, while Thermage FLX heats the skin itself for firmness. Many patients combine them — the Signature Ulthermage Program pairs 300 Ultherapy Prime shots with 600 Thermage shots.
Does it hurt?
Ultrasound lifting can feel hot and sharp over bony areas. Numbing cream is standard; sleep sedation or Air-Nox can be arranged depending on your sensitivity and the number of shots.
Will my face look hollow afterwards?
Hollowing is a known concern with deep lifting on thin or lean faces. This is why the doctor checks cheek hollowing risk and adjusts depth and placement before treatment.
